The Hottest Sneaker Looks Spotted on Fall 2018 Runways | The_ONES

22 Favorite Sneaker Moments From Fall 2018 Runways

Amidst the sky-high stilettos, the thigh-grazing boots, and the futuristic flights-of-fancy, NYFW Fall 2018 saw much love given to the sneaker. They were basic, they were bedazzled. They were the low-key cool accessory setting off statement coats, monochrome suits, frothy dresses. Custom designs were created. And collaborations were unveiled. Scroll down for some of our favorite sneaker moments (including—tada!—a surprise appearance by The_ONES).

Noon by Noor

Unadorned, custom-made black and white leather sneakers accessorized a handful of Noon by Noor looks, a covetable yin and yang of tailored masculine cuts and flowy feminine silhouettes.

John Elliott

This fashion week, longtime menswear designer John Elliott made his womenswear debut, a collection of imminently wearable trousers, slip dresses, bomber jackets, and trim coats, pairing them with fresh new colorways from his ongoing Nike collaboration.

Pyer Moss

Pyer Moss designer Kerby Jean-Raymond looked to the untold stories of 19th-century black cowboys for inspiration and debuted not one but two nostalgia-inducing collaborations with ’90s streetwear brand Cross Colours and retro-cool Reebok.

Collina Strada

Models of all ages, colors, shapes, and sizes wore sandals and sneakers by Teva setting off Collina Strada’s feel-good designs, a serving of fashion comfort food with a dose of Wes Anderson whimsy thrown in for good measure.

Vivienne Hu

To accompany her richly layered and cut-just-so ensembles inspired by China’s Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes, Vivienne Hu sent several models sashaying down the runway in sneakers from her new VHNY x Qzone collection.

Vivi Zubedi

Indonesian label Vivi Zubedi took to the runways with modest garb crafted from intricate South Kalimantan fabrics. But the refreshingly cool accessorizing was pure street style from the baseball caps down to the custom sneakers created by the designer.

The New York-based, Dutch brand Hardeman played with all-American staples—your jeans, your polos, your pullovers—giving them a tongue-in-cheek once-over and completing many of the looks with ever-classic Chuck Taylors.

Harrison Wong

Showing under the Fashion Hong Kong umbrella, designer Harrison Wong drew inspiration from the abstract works of Mark Rothko to create his fall line, which, with its sportswear undertones, was nicely complemented by his custom-designed sneakers.

Heaven Please+

Also showing as part of Fashion Hong Kong, Heaven Please+ designers Lary Cheung and Yi Chan sent stuff-of-fantasies looks—over-the-top silhouettes, clouds of tulle, oversize candy-color coats—down the runway juxtaposed with the bauble-laden sneaks they designed for the collection.

This fashion week, German powerhouse Adidas kicked off a collaboration with up-and-coming ingenue Dutch designer Danielle Cathari on a line of reimagined tracksuits in poppy pastels and primary colors they showed with timeless Adidas sneaks.

Classic Adidas and Nikes from The_ONES’ collection were paired with chic monochrome looks in superfresh materials by Michelle Smith of Milly (the designer whose floor-length dress is forever immortalized in Michelle Obama’s first-lady portrait by Amy Sherald).
