Roper

Roper Logo
Roper is the largest manufacturer of both footwear and apparel within the western industry. The company’s casual clothing and footwear for men, women and children are sold exclusively through western retailers across the United States in more than 2,000 stores. Roper's vision for growth can be traced all the way back to the young man who founded the company 59 years ago. Fresh from the service to his country during World War II, Sam Mandelbaum returned to work in production and merchandising at Miller Western Wear. In 1948, after being overlooked for a promotion, Mandelbaum decided to strike out on his own. With enthusiasm, his knowledge of the Western wear industry, and dedicated work ethic, Mandelbaum, with the financial backing of Jack Karsh, opened Karman Inc.

In recognition of a lifetime of contributions to the industry, Sam Mandelbaum’s peers named him to the Western Image Awards Hall of Fame in August of 2003. The leadership of Karman Inc. is now in the hands of Sam’s son, Gary Mandelbaum. Gary shares his father’s vision for growth and continues to make the corporation successful. Karman Inc. is unique in the industry of being one of the only Western apparel and footwear manufacturers and distributors for Roper brands. In January of 1986 under the design leadership of Nancy Leavitt, the company launched the Roper brand with a big splash at the Denver market. Acceptance for the brand was immediate from retailers and consumers alike. A few short years later in 1993, Roper again broke the mold when it introduced its own line of footwear called Horseshoes, unique hybrid combining tennis shoes with boots. Roper managed to create a new niche in the footwear market. Today, the footwear category accounts for about 40 percent of Roper’s total sales volume.

Whether you are looking for casual shoes or hard working boots, Roper has got you covered. Roper designs and manufactures a wide array of boots and shoes for every aspect of the modern cowboy’s life. Roper’s beautifully designed boots and shoes are made from the highest quality materials. From rugged work boots to fun western fashion, Roper boots are made to last.

I love this dress! So cute, and very comfortable. I'm 5'6" and 142 lbs. Ordered a medium and it fits perfectly! I did have to have the straps shortened about an inch as they were a little loose, but otherwise everything is perfect. Will be a very comfortable summer dress.

Comfortable with roomy round toe box for daily summer horse pasture and barn work. Used a gel insert to secure the fit. Feels like a moccasin. Cool enough for summer work wear. Nice tread to avoid slipping on dry steep dirt. Tread is not too thick so can still be safe to use in a stirrup. The nice-looking upper boot can be used to tuck in jeans -from getting wet or dirty.

Size was good, enough room for my toes even with socks. But I have to return because I have neuropathy in my feet and these boots hurt my feet. They would have worked for me 20 years ago.

Very comfortable boot from the first wear. Def broken I’m. Look awesome. However, as good as they look the quality is not there. Has a cheap poly liner that on mine was ripped on the inside of the left boot so much you can’t get the boot on. Not sure why they needed to put in a liner. Exchanging once. If same issue. Returning.

These booties are really good looking, but they definitely run big by a half size. I wear an 8.5 and I needed a 7.5 to fit However, because of the pointy toe, they are tight in the toe.

I sized up due to some comments about the boots running small. Well, they are actually too big. I should have sized down instead.

I loved these boots and wore them to the barn daily for chores only (not riding). Bought them last June (2021) and I really had to retire them today (April 2022) — both soles are separated and I wore a big old hole in the bottom of the left boot. They are definitely not built to take the punishment I dealt them! I averaged about 12,000 steps over 3-4 hours daily and they didn't last 10 months. I'm not knocking them, they are super cute if you're going to wear them to the mall. They just aren't built for horse people, IMHO!

Fit was a bit large but that worked for me because I need to put insoles in all my shoes for padding and these really needed thick ones, at least for me and my sensitive feet.

This was my third pair of Roper Riley boots (pink, turquoise and now black), and I have loved all of them. Great price for comfortable fashion boots. I play in a country music band and these make GREAT stage wear, and even after three sets my feet still feel great.

Runs at least a full size big. Material looks cheap and very much like fake leather. I do think it would be comfortable in the correct size.
